China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) has welcomed the rapid growth of its exclusive marine equipment service platform, CSSC Marine Service Co.,Ltd, (CMS), during its first twelve months of trading.
Increasing demand for services offered by CMS has necessitated plans for service expansion, the details of which CMS will be communicating during the upcoming SMM exhibition in Hamburg, Germany between September 4-7, 2018.

TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises has placed an order with Italian to shipbuilder Fincantieri build a pair of new-generation cruise ships to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Transas, a Wärtsilä company, has signed a landmark contract to supply a Fleet Operations Solution (FOS) to Wilson ASA, the Norway-based fleet operator. The FOS creates an infrastructure that includes onboard navigational and communication components to provide enhanced connectivity for business communications and crew services, and access to fleet data from shore-based locations for complete situational awareness. The order was booked in Q1, 2018.

The new expedition cruise ship is designed for 40 days operation in polar regions without the need to resupply.
The vessel will be built by Croatia’s Brodosplit to a design by Sembcorp Marine subsidiary LMG Marin.
