First Finnlines lengthened vessel delivered

The lengthening programme of Finnlines’ vessels is in full swing in the Remontowa S.A. shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. Finnlines has finished the first lengthening project and the first “Breeze series” ro-ro vessel is now lengthened by approximately 30 metres.

MacGregor receives an order from Summit LNG Terminal in Bangladesh

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has signed an order for the fabrication, engineering and project management of a complete subsea mooring and riser system with the Bangladesh-based company, Summit LNG Terminal Co. The MacGregor system will serve Summit’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). The order was booked into Cargotec’s fourth quarter 2017 order intake. The MacGregor delivery will be completed in the fourth quarter 2018.

Stena Bulk reorganises, coordinates and opens new office in Copenhagen

Stena Bulk is reorganising its business activities into three business areas: Crude & Fuel, Products & Chemicals and LNG and have appointed two new managing directors. At the same time, its business activities previously conducted under the name of Stena Weco are being coordinated and incorporated into Stena Bulk. Additionally, a new office in Copenhagen will be opened in the next few days. As a result, the company will leave its office in Rungsted, which until now has been used by Stena Weco.

DNV GL line optimization brings ten per cent fuel savings for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ new expedition cruise vessels

Design changes made as a result of working with DNV GL has resulted in projected annual fuel savings of more than ten per cent for the new Hapag-Lloyd Cruises passenger expedition ships. The two vessels, Hanseatic nature and Hanseatic inspiration, are currently under construction at the Vard Shipyard in Romania and Norway and are expected to launch in April and October 2019.

MacGregor announces a plan to achieve annual cost savings of approximately EUR 13 million

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, is announcing planned measures to achieve annual cost savings of approximately EUR 13 million and begins statutory cooperation negotiations. The plans include the split of Smart Ocean Technology division into Cargo Handling division and Advanced Offshore Solutions division.
