MRV made easy by new functionality in NAPA performance monitoring systems

NAPA, a world leading maritime software, services and data analysis provider, has updated its performance monitoring and reporting systems to enable simple, straightforward compliance with EU Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) legislation. Users of NAPA Shipping Solutions, ClassNK-NAPA GREEN and NAPA-DSME Power® can easily generate MRV reports and include their performance monitoring software as their data collection method in the monitoring plan due on 31st August 2017.

Increased passenger capacity to TALLINK RoPax M/V Regal Star by SRC

Engineering, manufacturing and installation of accommodation area extension with superstructure, interior outfitting and ship systems. Turnkey delivery of an accommodation extension for the RoPax vessel, M/V Regal Star, owned by TALLINK, to increase the passenger capacity and vessel’s value. The entire two deck accommodation module, that consists of 10 passenger cabins, was completely designed and outfitted on SRC’s premises.

DNV GL carries out its first offshore drone survey

DNV GL surveyors have carried out the classification society’s first offshore drone survey on the semisubmersible vessel Safe Scandinavia in the North Sea. This 25,383 GT tender support vessel (TSV) is owned and operated by Prosafe, supporting Statoil’s drilling operations off the coast of Norway. Using camera-equipped drones, DNV GL’s drone pilots checked the TSV’s fairleads and their connection with the vessel’s two columns as part of the intermediate survey.

Wärtsilä propulsion solutions to power two Chinese research vessels

The technology group Wärtsilä has been contracted to provide the main engines, retractable thrusters and exhaust cleaning equipment for two new research vessels being built for the China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association (COMRA). COMRA is an institution dedicated to the research and development of international seabed resources and environment, overseen by the Chinese government’s State Oceanic Administration. The ships are being built at the CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding and Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group yards. The orders were booked in April 2017.

Icebreaking LNG Carrier Takes Northern Sea Route

After loading her cargo at the Snøhvit LNG export terminal in Hammerfest, Norway, the icebreaking LNG tanker Christophe de Margerie is taking the Northern Sea Route to Boryeong in South Korea, where she will deliver a cargo for Total Gas & Power.
