Combi Lift Orders 19 Vessels from Damen

Damen Shipyards Group said it has secured an order with German heavy lift company Combi Lift to build a total of 19 specially customized shallow draught vessels. The vessels will be used to transport oversized and heavy lift cargo for the Gazprom Amur Gas Processing Plant Project in the Russian Far East. The multiple vessel order comprises four Multi Cats 2608SD, four Pusher Tugs 2612SD, seven Stan Pontoons 8916SD and four Side Floaters 8605SD.

RF Government approves plan for construction of three ferries for a link with Kaliningrad Region

RF Government says it has approved a plan for ensuring transport accessibility of the Kaliningrad Region focused on the development of the ferry service. In particular, the plan foresees the construction of three railway ferries for operation on the Ust-Luga – Baltijsk line. That will let take over the bulk of the Kaliningrad Region’s cargo flow which is currently running via the territory of Belarus and Lithuania.

DNV GL opens fleet performance centres to improve vessel efficiency

DNV GL opened two digital fleet performance centres in Hamburg and Singapore to support their ECO Insight customers in monitoring and optimizing their fleets. Expert systems at the fleet performance centres are able to check incoming vessel data from customers using the ECO Insight platform, providing quality control of the data and offering suggestions on potential improvement levers for both individual vessels and fleets, such as identifying speed loitering and over-usage of auxiliary engines or boilers.
