The Baltic Sea is a hotbed for innovation and competitiveness, the Baltic Sea Region also features a strong tradition of transnational cooperation for working for a healthy Baltic Sea. The Commission is now taking the development of the Baltic Blue Growth Agenda one step further launching an implementation strategy for the region.
With this initiative the Commission wants to facilitate transnational cooperation in the maritime economy in the Baltic Sea Region and to kick-start the implementation of its Baltic Blue Growth Agenda. This initiative will be stakeholder-driven, taking a cross-Baltic approach to innovation and sustainability with a strong focus on entrepreneurial opportunities and industry challenges. As first step in the stakeholder engagement process an online survey will soon be launched. The survey results will be used to ensure guide structured, focused and result-oriented discussions in four interactive workshops to be held in early 2017. The results from this process will feed into an implementation strategy for the Baltic Blue Growth Agenda to be finalised in 2017.
