The Finnish scrubber manufacturer Langh Tech has closed its largest deal so far and will deliver SOx scrubber systems for 12 vessels owned by Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S.

Today, on 3 September, the production of Viking Line’s new passenger cruise ship starts at the Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (XSI) shipyard in China. The first steel plates are being cut in the traditional Steel Cutting ceremony. The new vessel will be one of the most climate-smart ships in the world. The project has involved extensive engineering and development work with the intention to create a unique new-generation passenger ship. The collaborative project has engaged several suppliers in Finland and Europe. The vessel will be launched for operation in early 2021 on the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route.

ESL Shipping Oy, a shipping company fully owned by Aspo Plc has today completed the transaction concerning the acquisition of all the outstanding shares of AtoB@C Shipping AB and AtoB@C Holding AB (AtoB@C) that offer shipping services.

Wärtsilä and De Beers Marine have signed an agreement for the replacement of generating sets aboard De Beers’ diamond mining ship Debmar Pacific. The vessel, originally built in the 1970s, will be outfitted with new Wärtsilä gensets to extend their lifetime and improve reliability.
